After experimenting with several shibori fabric dyeing methods

Katano shibori seemed the most intriguing.

The scarf is pleated lengthwise and then sewn by hand

following a wavy line. This was challenging because the needle has to pierce several layers of fabric and protective fabric in between.

Then the scarf is dipped in dye.

A darker color would have resulted in a more stark pattern,

but this mint scarf has its own subtle charm.
